MV Becrux in-water survey and propeller polish

Problem

The MV Becrux required an in-water survey in lieu of dry docking and propeller polish to ensure all seam welds and overall health of the submerged components was sound. This shipping and maintenance service is an option for vessel operators to extend the service life of a ship by 12 months in between dry docking.

Technical solution

A commercial diver, wearing an in-water CCTV system performed the UWILD, visually inspecting every underwater weld seam. The overall condition of the hull, propeller and rudder was also inspected and then reviewed and approved by the attending Class Surveyor.

Outcome

The in-water survey in lieu of dry docking and propeller polish resulted in the vessel receiving a clean bill of health.
