Franmarine Underwater Services Pty Ltd is the most experienced onshore commercial diving company operating in Western Australia. Established in 1981 we are located at the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson and provide a diversified range of underwater services to the local Perth Marine Industry.

Shipping 

Franmarine Specialize in ship maintenance and repair and where required provide the majority of underwater services to ships entering West Australian waters. Associated tasks include: repairs; In-water propeller refits, underwater welding, cutting, drilling and sea suction/discharge blanking. Inspection´s including underwater photography, video (digital format) and non destructive thickness testing. Hull cleaning (local vessels) and Propeller polishing - (Ruberts Scale). Ship lifts and Docking alignment.

In Water Surveys also form an important aspect of the services we provide the Shipping Industry. Franmarine presently hold the following Class Society approvals in relation to Ship and offshore plate form inspection and repairs: American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyds Register and Nippon Kaiji Kyokai

Franmarine Underwater Services also provide general underwater construction services having been involved with a wide range of slipway maintenance and repair, jetty maintenance and repair, pipeline installation and maintenance and non destructive testing tasks.

Shipping 

Salvage Salvages form an important element of the companies strategic planning. In association with United Salvage, Franmarine have been directly involved with the salvages of the MT. Kirki (Lancelin), MV. Cebu Sam Miguel (Esperance) and MV. Boa Force (Thevenard Island). In our own right the company has successfully salvaged in excess of two hundred vessels (ranging up to 1200 tonne) throughout Western Australia. In recent times the company completed the salvage of the NW. Fitzroy, a 100 tonne Trawler in 17 meters of water. This is one of the deepest and heaviest salvages successfully completed in Western Australia.

Moorings 

Moorings

The company is responsible for the installation, inspection and maintenance of in excess 700 moorings throughout the State. The capacity of these moorings range from small pleasure craft up to large 75,000 tonne Ships moorings located at Cape Cuvier, North of Carnarvon.

Since 1995 the company has also been developing a low impact mooring system designed for installation into environmentally sensitive areas. The "EzyRider Mooring and Offset Anchor system was commercialised in mid 2000 through our subsidiary company "Advanced Mooring Technology P/L" and to date more than 800 moorings have been supplied throughout Australia.

Sea Grass Transplantation

Since 1994, Franmarine Underwater Services has been involved with Cockburn Cement in developing a mechanical seagrass transplantation system. To date, the project has been highly successful receiving world wide acclaim as the first successful mechanical seagrass transplantation system. The project has played a key role in Cockburn Cements Environmental Management Plan, which has assisted their company in gaining long term dredging approval from the Western Australian Government. The Seagrass rehabilitation project was awarded the coved 2000 Golden Gecko Award.
